INTERNATIONAL INTERNET DAY : A Day To Honor The Internet For Making Our Lives Easier

The Internet is a network that connects two or more computers via wires or wireless for the purpose of sending, exchanging, and sharing data and resources. The first internet connection was established on October 29th, 1969, and it was honoured for the first time in 2005. As a result, every year on October 29, the world celebrates International Internet Day. In 1969, this day commemorated the transmission of the first electronic message from one computer to another. It is regarded as the most significant invention in the history of mankind.

APPLICATIONS OF INTERNET

The Internet has a wide range of applications. A few of them are mentioned below:
  1. Communication: We save time and money by communicating over the Internet. This is due to the fact that transmitting information is significantly cheaper and faster. From instant messaging to phone calls, the internet offers a variety of communication options. Email, social networking, and instant messaging are just a few examples.
  2. Unlimited Knowledge: The Internet has grown vital, and it is now utilised for everything from business to learning to research to entertainment. However, for parents, the Internet might be more of a foe than a friend. The internet has numerous benefits, but parents may keep their children from becoming addicted to the internet by imposing time limits on their Internet use and enforcing rigorous adherence to study and homework deadlines.
  3. Speed-up Tasks: The Internet is quite important in our daily lives. When we turn it on, it displays emails and texts to us. Aside from that, users can use the internet to send money, shop, order food online, buy tickets, pay bills, make appointments, play games, watch news, etc.
  4. E-learning: Students can use the Internet to learn new skills and even get degrees through online education programmes. Even teachers can educate students from all over the world. All you'll need is an internet-connected electronic gadget.
  5. Online Business: Every company or business, whether online or offline, requires a website. The Internet enables the company to create a strong network with its customers. Customer reviews assist businesses in taking their efficiency to the next level. Every day, new services and businesses are established, increasing job opportunities and decreasing unemployment.
  6. Shopping: Anyone with access to the internet can order things online. From concert tickets to washing machines, groceries to trips, there's sure to be a website that sells exactly what you're looking for. To buy things online, all you need is a computer with an internet connection and a credit or debit card.
  7. Economy Growth: The Internet is changing the world. In developed countries, the internet is responsible for 21% of economic development. The Internet has made a significant contribution to GDP growth. According to our findings, the Internet accounts for 3.4 percent of global GDP on average among the large economies that account for 70% of global GDP.
  8. Personal Development: The Internet is the best tool for self-improvement, yet most people lead extremely busy lives, making it impossible for them to take advantage of it. The internet is full of information. The more you look into it, the more you'll discover. You can utilise the internet to take online classes, participate in countless opportunities, watch documentaries and read online stories.
